2022-23 Back-to-School Parent Portal

The Back-to-School Parent Portal collects important student/family contact data, medical and emergency information, and more prior to each school year. 

The 2022-23 portal opened Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Parents/guardians were asked to submit their information by end of day Monday, September 5, 2022. If you have yet to complete the portal, please do so as soon as possible. If you are encountering issues or having trouble, email backtoschool@rtsd.org.

 

How to Access the Portal

  • A 15-digit unique “snapcode” will be sent directly to each family when the portal opens to allow access to the portal.

  • Each parent/guardian with a student enrolled in an RTSD school will receive an email at the email addresses on file with the district from the RTSD Central Registrar, Amelia Dougherty, that contains their child’s unique snapcode and instructions on how to access the portal.

The "Back-to-School Parent/Guardian Portal," provided by the education software company PowerSchool, is a secure web-based system that allows the district to verify all demographic, emergency, and medical information for students at the start of a new school year.

The system also allows parents/guardians to read and complete forms and indicate receipt and review of other informational materials. When parents/guardians access the portal, the system will be pre-populated with most of the contact information currently on file for parents/guardians and students, including the most recently provided emergency contact information. While a review of all information in the portal is important, it is imperative parents/guardians check their emergency information and update as needed.

  • Technology Forms
  • Media Release Form
  • COPPA Form
  • Student/Parent Handbook Acknowledgement

Please note: Additional forms may be required by each school building

What’s a snapcode? 
The snapcode is a key to your child’s Back-to-School Forms for the upcoming school year. You should receive a unique snapcode or snapcode link for each child.  

Lost or Did Not Receive Your Snap Code? (NOTE: You will not receive your 2022-23 snapcode until Aug. 16, 2022 at the earliest)

Do I have to answer all the questions?  
Certain fields are marked as "required". 
 
What if I make a mistake?  
If you would like to make a change, click on the underlined field or click “< Prev” to return to a previous page. If you would like to make changes after your forms are submitted, contact Central Registrar Amelia Dougherty.
 
I’ve completed the form, now what?  
When you have finished entering your information, click “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered to the school. If you cannot click on this button, you will need to make sure that you have answered all required questions. 
 
What if I have more than one student in the district?  
Do I need to do this for each child? Yes, because you’ll need to provide information that is specific for each child. We recommend that you submit one set of Back-to-School Forms and then start another – the system will allow you to “snap over” shared family information, which will save you time.
