Dr. Wiedlich shares information on scheduling your 7th and 8th graders' Parent-Teacher Conference. Conferences will be held during the afternoons of November 17, 21 and 22, and all day on November 23. One additional conference date was added this year: December 23

Dr. Wiedlich shares information on scheduling your 6th grader's student-led parent conference. Conferences are scheduled for Nov. 17th, 21st, and 22nd. 

Beginning Oct. 1, breakfast will be free for all students following a Sept. 9 announcement from Gov. Wolf that the state would be funding the meal for the remainder of the school year.

Back-to-school forms, permissions and other information are collected from families via an online portal prior to each school year. The 2022-23 portal opened on August 16.

People in crisis or facing emotional distress now have a three-digit dialing code to call or text any time of the day or night that will connect them to trained counselors for support and assistance.

Dr. Wiedlich shares excitement for the new school year, a commitment to an excellent educational and extracurricular experience at RMS, and how to help spread good news happening at the school.

Radnor residents 65 and up, widows/widowers ages 50 and up, and/or persons with disabilities ages 18 and up who meet income requirements are eligible for tax rebates from RTSD. Apply by Dec. 31, 2022!

Applications are welcome for a variety of open opportunities, including a high school college and career counselor, coaches for various sports, support staff and paraprofessionals at all schools, and more.

To continue RTSD's development of a strong culture of belonging, dignity and inclusion, all staff have been provided a book to read about the importance of these elements toward educational equity.

A new public comment method for Board and Committee meetings will accept submissions via a voicemail line that will open prior to the meeting. The voicemails will then be played at the meeting.

RTSD will deliver instruction to students remotely if circumstances warrant during the 2022-23 school year after a plan was approved by the Board on May 31. Traditional snow days will still be an option.

Learn a little more about the 309 members of this year's graduating class, including most common names, number of twins, and plans after RHS.

8th-grade Chromebooks and chargers will be collected during HMS on Tues., June 14. Fees will be assessed for any lost or damaged devices and accessories.

In light of the terrible tragedy in Uvalde, TX, we wish to remind our families of the security measures in place at our schools. We have also shared related resources with our school staff. 

Malaika Virk, Annie Zhong, Meredith Gelles, and Jennifer Ma will represent RMS in the National Contest in June. Vivian Bajus will serve as an alternate.

The South Wayne Avenue Flood Reduction Project began May 31 and results in various road closures and restrictions through Fall 2022.

Seventh-grader Daniel Xu is this year's Radnor Middle School Spelling Bee Champion, following several rounds of competition in April. 

The final fundraising total was revealed at the end of a multi-hour celebration on May 6. This year's event brings the school's five-year total to over $380,000.

Fourth-grader Wesleigh Staneivezius was recently named a first place winner in the 33rd Annual Young Poets of Delaware County Poetry Contest. Eighth-grader Anrui Xu placed third.

Dr. Wiedlich shares important information with families about the 2022-23 Course Selection process for current 6th- and 7th-graders and the upcoming Recognition Ceremonies for 8th-graders.

RMS 8th-graders Meredith Gelles, Grace Gerrow, Isabella Teles, and Annie Zhong, and WES 5th-grader Olivia Gai were selected as winners for their respective grade level from a pool of more than 500 entries.

In a message to RMS families, Dr. Wiedlich shares information on upcoming presentations scheduled during Health Education classes for 6th-8th-grade students.

In celebration of our teachers (and all staff) for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6) and Day (May 3), students from RMS talked about what teachers have meant to them and shared words of thanks.

All families are invited to watch an informational video for their child's 2022-23 grade level program and complete a lottery interest form. Forms are available through Mon., May 9 at 8 p.m.

The portion of KOP Road between Gulph Creek Road and Radnor Way will be closed on weekdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., now until Tuesday, August 30.

Since no snow days were used this year, the three days built into the calendar at the end of the year were removed, moving the last day of school from June 21 to June 16.

Sixteen RMS students and one RHS student earned their places in the state round following top three finishes at the Southeastern PA National History Day Regional Contest on April 1 and 2.

Administration provided the Curriculum Committee a report on April 5 that reviewed the current progress of the district's DEI work as part of a district initiative approved by the Board in 2020.

At RTSD's 8th annual Legislative Breakfast, students serving on the Board and in student government joined Board members and staff for honest conversations with state and local representatives.

A cast and crew of RMS students brought Roald Dahl's classic children's book Matilda to life on stage from March 10-12 in the RMS auditorium.

Dr. Wiedlich shares important details about the annual Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA), which will be administered to all students in Pennsylvania public schools this school year.

Olivia Brubaker, Noah Conen, Ellie Davis, Sammy Rosin, Ian Sun and Sarah Tachau were recognized for their work, earning two 1st-place awards, three 2nd-place awards, and six honorable mentions.

Dr. Wiedlich informs RMS families that traditional cafeteria seating is returning as mitigation protocols continue to be adjusted in response to current conditions.

The last school day is currently June 21 and no snow days have been used so far this year. If the district continues to not have to use any snow days, the last day would move to June 16.

The 8th-grader won the Geographic Bee final on March 3. This marks his second title, having previously won the competition as a 6th-grader in January 2020.

The 53-page report is the first to reveal data from a full school year during the pandemic.

The RHS junior earned an award for her acrylic and resin painting, “Wave”. Seven other RHS students had their original artwork displayed at the exhibit at Delaware County Community College.

All 17 members of the Class of 2022 previously named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists met requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. Congrats!

Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares today's students for tomorrow's opportunities. RTSD celebrated CTE Month in February, highlighting students participating in the program this school year.

Based on 2/25 CDC guidance, students and staff are no longer required to wear masks on school transportation. Masks are also no longer required at after-school indoor spectator events. 

All students, staff and visitors can determine their own masking status beginning Feb. 24 after an unanimous Board vote approving changes to the Radnor Health and Safety Plan on Feb. 22.

Victoria De Freitas, Isabelle Deputy, Ridhima Jain, Kaitlyn Lee, Lia Lenthall-Cleary, Alison Miltenberger, Prabhgun Oberoi, Grace Purcell, Anna Ramesh, and Lauren Sciuchetti will be inducted on March 23.

Cara Miller is slated to become Interim Assistant Director of Special Education, taking over for George Reigle, and Joe Daniele to become Director of Transportation.

Administration is recommending a change to Radnor's Health and Safety Plan to remove the mask requirement when positive case counts are less than 2.5% of a school or building's total student and staff population. 

As part of the development of a Comprehensive Long-Term Facilities Plan for RTSD schools and buildings, input from community members is sought at events on March 3, 7 and 16. Register now.

The Gateways program competed in the virtual competition in January. Their city, Marochora, earned two awards: Innovation in Sustainable Engineering and Inspiring Heroes.

RMS 7th-grader Graci Gill and WES 4th-grader Ella Gill auditioned with a violin duet to earn their place in the Elite International Music Competition Winners Recital on February 6.

An update was provided at the 1/25 Board meeting on the district's refinement of Covid-19 mitigation strategies. Masks will continue to be required at this time and potential adjustments to our Health and Safety Plan will be considered at the 2/22 meeting.  

Radnor Middle School recently acknowledged students for consistently employing the identified essential skills of Responsibility, Communication, Creativity, and Collaboration (4RCs).

Families of students in grades K-12 who will be new to RTSD in the 2022-23 school year are invited to register online now.

Based on their performances at the FBLA Regional Leadership Conference in December, 35 RHS students qualified for the Hybrid PAFBLA State Leadership Conference in Hershey in April.

Audrey Niedland is one of only ten student-musicians from PA, and four flutists, selected to the 122-member NaFME All-National Symphony Orchestra. (Story and video)

RTSD.org's new "AudioEye" accessibility tool was launched along with the redesign to ensure all visitors could access website content in a way that best suit their needs.

The event featured a variety of informational and hands-on sessions involving Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, all manned by RTSD parents and community members.

The 7th-grade band, 8th-grade band, and 7th- and 8th-grade jazz band performed on December 16 in the RMS auditorium. The concert marked the first in-person public performance for RMS band groups since December 2019.

Superintendent Batchelor thanks the community for its collective work as we return to school from break; shares new guidance from CHOP that the district will follow; and confirms results of at-home Covid rapid tests will now be accepted by RTSD.

We are excited and ready to welcome our students and staff back in-person on Monday, January 3 as planned. We will be following the CDC's updated guidance on quarantining and will need everyone's support to keep school fully open.

We are proud to present the completely redesigned and reorganized RTSD.org. Responding to feedback from families, students and staff, the new site's modernized design prioritizes ease of access to in-demand information in a visually appealing format. The last site refresh took place in Feb. 2015.

Radnor Township School District was full of holiday cheer on Dec. 22 as students across the district sang songs of the season before heading out for Winter Break. Classes resume January 3, 2022.

The top-seeded Radnor team finished an historic 2021 season by making the State Championship in Hershey on November 20. The state appearance followed the team's first District Championship since 2000.

Board-approved on Dec. 21, the calendar includes five, two-hour late starts to the school day to provide for professional development and maintains a full Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break.

Announced at the Dec. 21 School Board meeting, the district will continue to require masks in all buildings at least through January 2022, as well as further develop "guardrails" for the when the time is right to remove the requirement.

Radnor Model UN earned the top team recognition, as well as seven other awards, at the Model United Nations Conference in New Brunswick, NJ in late November, the team's first in-person competition in nearly two years.

In response to the Dec. 10 PA Supreme Court ruling, Superintendent Batchelor reminds our school community that masks are still required in RTSD buildings. Discussion on possible next steps concerning masking in RTSD will take place Dec. 21.

In effort to "save summer days," asynchronous, synchronous, or both methods of teaching and learning will take place when school must be closed for a weather or other emergency. Snow days will still be called depending on the storm and circumstances.

The Board unanimously elected Goldman and Dunn to the leadership positions at its Reorganization meeting on Dec. 7. Dunn was also sworn in to a new four-year term with fellow re-elected Board members Andrew Babson, Esq., Lydia T. Solomon and Susan Stern.

Live theatre returned to Radnor High School when the Radnor Actors Workshop production of "Clue: On Stage" hit the stage from November 18-20.

In response to the Nov. 10 PA Commonwealth Court ruling, this update is meant to provide clarity on masking in our district.

This October, Radnor Township School District orchestra students performed in a series of outdoor concerts for friends, family, and community members.

The Class of 2022 honored a beloved classmate by selecting Pete, who was born with spinal muscular atrophy and passed away in 2018 while a student at RMS. He would've been a senior this year. Lucy is Pete's twin sister.

Created in 1921, the National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate the four pillars of the institution: scholarship, service, leadership and character.

Pawling previously served as Director of Business Affairs at Souderton Area School District since 2019. Current Business Administrator Michelle Diekow is set to retire in early November.

Daniele joined the district as a school bus driver in 2008 and has served as Transportation Router for the past nine years.

Sophia Kaisermann will have her original play "Date/Month/Year" featured as part of Philadelphia Young Playwrights' "New Voices" virtual event on Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30.

The $29.7 million ADA Accessibility and Wellness Infrastructure Project at RHS addresses outdated and inaccessible facilities at Prevost and Encke fields.

With face masks now required for all RTSD students, staff, and visitors when indoors, gaiter-style masks are again no longer permitted as an acceptable form of mask. This adheres to CDC guidance first announced in a message and followed by the district in February 2021.

RHS and RMS students recently competed in the Southeast PA National History Day Regional Contest. Ten projects placed in the top three in their category and are eligible to compete in the state round.

Students in the 8th-grade integrated program competed at the Regional Future City competition on Jan. 20. The team won awards in Best Sustainability of Transportation Systems and Best Building Safety.
