As we approach the highly anticipated solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, we want to ensure that our community is both excited and prepared for this remarkable event. Our school schedules will remain unchanged; all schools will operate on their traditional timetable.

Radnor Middle School's 7th annual Mini-THON event generated over $147,000. More than 500 students and staff members danced from late afternoon into the night to celebrate their efforts in the fight against pediatric cancer.

Radnor Middle School Students Named Promising Young Writers

Radnor Middle School eighth graders Natalie Myers, Ella Starzyk, Margaret Gord, and Kate Mallory have been recognized as a 2023 Promising Young Writer by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), each achieving the distinction of Superior.

Congratulations to our Radnor Middle School historians! RMS sent 11 projects (13 students) to this year's State National History Day Contest held in Scranton on April 22 and 23.

A new public comment method for Board and Committee meetings will accept submissions via a voicemail line that will open prior to the meeting. The voicemails will then be played at the meeting.

8th-Grade Chromebook Collection

8th-grade Chromebooks and chargers will be collected during HMS on Tues., June 14. Fees will be assessed for any lost or damaged devices and accessories.

School Safety and Security in RTSD

RMS Projects Advance to National History Day Finals

21-22 Calendar Update

Since no snow days were used this year, the three days built into the calendar at the end of the year were removed, moving the last day of school from June 21 to June 16.

The last school day is currently June 21 and no snow days have been used so far this year. If the district continues to not have to use any snow days, the last day would move to June 16.

An update was provided at the 1/25 Board meeting on the district's refinement of Covid-19 mitigation strategies. Masks will continue to be required at this time and potential adjustments to our Health and Safety Plan will be considered at the 2/22 meeting.

RMS Hosts Inaugural STEM Night for Grades 6-8

The event featured a variety of informational and hands-on sessions involving Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, all manned by RTSD parents and community members.

7th and 8th Grade Band Groups Perform for First Time Since 2019

The 7th-grade band, 8th-grade band, and 7th- and 8th-grade jazz band performed on December 16 in the RMS auditorium. The concert marked the first in-person public performance for RMS band groups since December 2019.

Radnor Township School District was full of holiday cheer on Dec. 22 as students across the district sang songs of the season before heading out for Winter Break. Classes resume January 3, 2022.

The top-seeded Radnor team finished an historic 2021 season by making the State Championship in Hershey on November 20. The state appearance followed the team's first District Championship since 2000.

School Board Action

Board-approved on Dec. 21, the calendar includes five, two-hour late starts to the school day to provide for professional development and maintains a full Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break.

 RADMUN Wins "Outstanding Delegation" Award at Rutgers

Radnor Model UN earned the top team recognition, as well as seven other awards, at the Model United Nations Conference in New Brunswick, NJ in late November, the team's first in-person competition in nearly two years.

The Board unanimously elected Goldman and Dunn to the leadership positions at its Reorganization meeting on Dec. 7. Dunn was also sworn in to a new four-year term with fellow re-elected Board members Andrew Babson, Esq., Lydia T. Solomon and Susan Stern.

Pete Henkel Crowned Homecoming King, Lucy Henkel Queen

The Class of 2022 honored a beloved classmate by selecting Pete, who was born with spinal muscular atrophy and passed away in 2018 while a student at RMS. He would've been a senior this year. Lucy is Pete's twin sister.

Radnor High School Inducts 110 Into National Honor Society

Created in 1921, the National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate the four pillars of the institution: scholarship, service, leadership and character.

With face masks now required for all RTSD students, staff, and visitors when indoors, gaiter-style masks are again no longer permitted as an acceptable form of mask. This adheres to CDC guidance first announced in a message and followed by the district in February 2021.

Twenty-one retiring employees were recognized for their years of service to Radnor students during the Board Meeting on June 29. Retirees celebrated their time during a reception and heard kind words from their colleagues.

RHS and RMS students recently competed in the Southeast PA National History Day Regional Contest. Ten projects placed in the top three in their category and are eligible to compete in the state round.

Students in the 8th-grade integrated program competed at the Regional Future City competition on Jan. 20. The team won awards in Best Sustainability of Transportation Systems and Best Building Safety.
