The message below was originally sent to RMS families by Dr. Wiedlich via SchoolMessenger on May 9.
Good afternoon RMS families,
I hope that you are having a great start to your week. I wanted to share some information with you regarding the middle school. Please take a few moments to review the information that is relative to your child’s specific grade level.
6th and 7th grade students/families:
Our current 6th and 7th grade families can now view their child’s course placements and elective choices for the 2022-2023 school year on HAC. Please see the message below that outlines course placements.
Also, as a reminder, if your child is interested in submitting his/her name for a grade specific integrated lottery, the deadline is this evening. For more information, please visit the RMS Integrated Program webpage.

2022-23 Course Selection for Current 6th and 7th Grade Students
Our current 6th and 7th grade families can now view their child’s course placements and elective choices for the 2022-2023 school year on HAC.
- Please log in to Home Access Center (HAC) with your Login ID and password.
- When in HAC click on the ‘Classes’ Icon in the menu bar at the top.
- Click on the Schedule tab and review the 2022-2023 Course Requests listed below the student’s current schedule.
Please note that placement recommendations are based on data and criteria that can be viewed on the Teaching and Learning webpage. Please note placements in mathematics are tentative and can change at the end of the year.
Also tentative are elective requests. We will try our best to schedule students for their preferred elective choices, however, student elective requests are not guaranteed due to scheduling constraints or other related factors.
Current 6th grade students will not have a World Language selection present in HAC, as those courses will be identified at the end of May. Please note that students who took the World Language Rotation in the 1st semester already ranked their World Language choices/preferences. Students who are taking the World Language Rotation this semester will rank their World Language choices/preferences at the end of May. We will try our best to schedule students for their preferred World Language, however, students are not guaranteed to receive their 1st World Language choice due to scheduling constraints or other related factors.
If you have questions about your child’s placement or would like to override/underride a specific core course, please first contact their current subject-area teacher. If, after talking with your child’s teacher, you are still interested in overriding or underriding the criterion-based recommendation, please reach out to your child’s current school counselor. He/She will be able to provide you with the override/underride form. Parents/Guardians may override one subject per academic year. Those subjects are ELA, Social Studies, and/or Science. Please note that overrides are not available for mathematics.
Lastly, in terms of our Integrated Programs, the lottery interest forms are due by 8:00 PM on May 9th. If your child is interested in submitting their name into a grade specific lottery, this form must be completed. Please refer to the email that was sent to you last week for respective form links.
Thank you for your continued support this year! Have a great week.
