The message below was originally sent by principal Dr. David Wiedlich to RMS families via SchoolMessenger on May 3, 2022
Good afternoon RMS families,
The Radnor Middle Health Education curriculum in grades 6-8, as outlined in our program of studies, covers a myriad of topics that help our students build a strong foundation of health knowledge, which is essential for healthy living and personal success.
For two health class sessions beginning May 9, through coordination with our social worker team, we will have guest professionals from Delaware County Victim Assistance Center, come and present to our health classes on grade specific topics that are directly related to the health curriculum. Our Health and Physical Education teachers will be actively involved during these presentations, which are grounded by PA state and national standards.
- The 8th grade presentations will include information about: Healthy Relationships, what makes a good friend, and Dating Rights and Responsibilities.
- The 7th grade presentations will include information about: Situations and Bystanders, Personal Boundaries (Physical, Emotional, and Personal/Sexual Boundaries, varied types of Harassment.
- The 6th grade presentations will include information about: Internet Safety and Peer Pressure.
As with any presentation, if you would prefer that your child(ren) not attend these presentations, please reach out to your child’s Health teacher by May 8.
Thank you and have a great afternoon.
